Led by Daniel H. Bender M.D., a recognized pain management physician and physiatrist, the Spine and Pain Medicine Center offers effective treatments without surgery to resolve back pain, headaches, neck pain, nerve pain, and other pain problems.  Some of these treatments are as follows:

• Facet Joint Injections: These are diagnostic injections that help determine the cause of neck or back pain.  If the patient’s pain goes away for several hours after a facet joint injection, it is expected that that particular joint is the source of the pain.   Once the structure that is causing your pain is detected, Dr. Bender can determine the course of action to treat your condition.

• Epidural Steroid Injections: These injections control pain from disk herniation, intense nerves in the neck, thorax, and lower back by reducing inflammation and swelling.

• Myofascial Pain Relief: People diagnosed with Myofascial Pain Syndrome suffer chronic pain in the muscles and the connective tissue of the body. Dr. Bender uses Trigger Points Therapy to detect the areas in the muscle that cause pain and treat them.

• Radio-Frequency Lesioning: This treatment is recommended for patients with neck or back pain that have not experienced long term relief after the application of Facet Joint Injections.  Dr. Bender uses radio waves to produce heat that partially destroys the nerves that carry pain signals from the facet joint to the brain.
